Even without the obvious pink coloring, this is as feminine a design as the prior example was masculine. What's wrong with that? Some may scoff, but what's the point of having small children and buying them cool bunk beds if we can't indulge our love for the school of design best embodied by 'Pee-wee's Playhouse' and 'SpongeBob SquarePants'? This is just fun and while kids, boys especially, may tend to grow out of something like this fairly early, and probably well before they reach middle school, it's just kind of irresistible.
