There is something utterly whimsical about the idea of an indoor swing... It seems the perfect addition to any modern home whether the style be rustic or refined, this is a look I'm absolutely willing to embrace!

There is something I adore about a child's space. I think all design rules and regulations are thrown upside down in favor of whimsical, statment making decor. A well designed kiddo room celebrates everything amazing about being young. This is a round up of a few of my recent faves...

Only one of these nurseries is actually rustic, or has rustic elements and that is this first room, but both incorporate the color rust exceptionally well. Rust is not typically included in the average nursery color scheme, but it's decided chic in both examples!

This stunning nursery is drool worthy and something out of a magazine, to be sure! To browse more of this room, click here.

Rust and Mint is simply divine! I'm always dreaming of something different and unique for a wee little room, and this color palette knocks it out of the park! Such a well dressed room for her baby boy! Don't you adore it? To browse more of this room, click here.

There is something magical about a touch of vintage in a child's room. A bit of nostalgia to instill a love of the past, a romanticism for discovery, of life and culture unique to our own, or perhaps to connect with our roots.

I am completely smitten with antique beds that appear to pull out for a wider version. A new spin on a lifetime bed to be sure...

I'm always so pleasantly surprised by neutral palettes that pack a wallop of style.  It's a bit like a sneak attack. At first, your eye gently wanders over the image and calmly browses the room...and then BAM! It hits you like a knock-out punch, and suddenly you realize that you really like this space... it's calming and yet makes your heart sing with design excitement!  The fact that it works for boys and girls, well that's just the icing on the cake. Ok, so perhaps I need to "see" someone about this, but what can I say...this is my passion and I love it in all forms, perhaps more than people sometimes (do you hear that family, if you don't behave, I'm likely to trade you in for a few choice magazine subscriptions and a nice big glass of wine!).

I adore this room, and all of it’s textured outdoorsy goodness, mixed with a bit of that antique store vibe. This little girl is one lucky duck with a parent designing for Urban Outfitters, she gets to grow up surrounded by that chic and slightly quirky décor we all know and love. This room turns nursery décor on it’s head just a bit, and I for one am eating it right up!

Zebra Rug…check!

This may be one of the most amazing spaces I have ever seen, if not THE most amazing space. It just happens to be for a kiddo and that makes this even more fabulous, need I say more?
